There are four major objectives in the SML Good Neighbor program:

1. To provide meals during the summer for those children who are eligible for free or reduced-cost meals during the school year

2. To provide a 4-week summer day camp for children needing support in reading enrichment, skills for living peacefully with self and others, and/or understanding one's role in the larger world and ways to make a positive difference

3. To provide opportunities for leadership training and vocational exploration for young adults through service-learning internships

4. To organize community resources to address the evolving needs of children from low-income families.
