SML Good Neighbors offers a 10 week, summer internship working with children who are rising 1st through 6th graders in a summer enrichment program. The children are from families with limited resources.
Our summer teaching staff (interns) lead the program with the support and assistance of the Program Director, the Site Director and dozens of volunteers. Lodging is provided as well as a $2,000 stipend. Additionally, gas/grocery gift cards are provided to the team as well as 2 - 3 volunteer prepared meals a week. The program is located in the Smith Mountain Lake community near Moneta, Virginia.
Our application period for the Summer 2018 BEGINS November 1st 2017 Deadline for applications is Sunday, February 25th. Interviews will be conducted throughout the application period and will be completed by the end of February and all applicants notified of our decisions by mid-March. We encourage applicants to apply early, as positions may be offered during the application period.
