About Us
SML Good Neighbors, Inc. is a nonprofit organization based in Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia, serving Bedford and Franklin Counties. Our Mission is to develop Good Neighbors skills and values in children through programs that nourish, educate and support them while providing life-changing experiences for college students through leadership development internships. Our Vision is to create a nurturing community that encourages integrity, values, responsibility and a love of learning.
Programs that support Our Mission
A four-week summer enrichment day camp for children in Bedford and Franklin Counties.
Summer weekend bag program for campers.
Leadership development internships for college students.
Student Enrichment in the Arts (S.E.A.) , an after-school theater program.
The Nancy Horton Scholarship program to support students pursing education post high school.
The Little Library in Moneta Park.
