We had a truly wonderful evening this past Friday! It was a night filled with gratitude, inspiration, and a shared vision for the future of the children in our community.

Board Chair Terry Jones kicked off the festivities, welcoming our cherished Cornerstone Society members, guests, and special speakers. It was heartwarming to see so many friendly faces gathered to support our mission.

Executive Director Lisa Lietz took the stage to share a look ahead, providing a 2025 program overview and sharing valuable community feedback. We also had the distinct honor of hearing from our guest speakers, Dr. Lisa Newell and Lisa Gallegos, who shared insights on the intern journeys and the tangible difference our programs make.

Honoring Sandy and Ed McNamara

A highlight of the evening was when Board Member Judy Wolfe took the microphone to announce the recipient of this year’s Judy Wolfe Volunteer Award.

This year, we celebrated the incredible dedication of Sandy and Ed McNamara.

Congratulations, Sandy and Ed! Your service is a testament to the spirit of SML Good Neighbors, and we are so grateful for all that you do.

Thank You!

To everyone who joined us, thank you. We hope you left inspired by the impact you make in the lives of our community’s children.

We also want to extend a special thanks to Eddie Mac for the fantastic closing entertainment and Trinity Ecumenical Church for hosting us. For those who couldn’t attend, please enjoy the photos below!

Becoming a Cornerstone Society Member

The Cornerstone Society of SML Good Neighbors is the bedrock of our organization. It recognizes individuals, families, organizations, foundations, and churches that have contributed at least $1,000 to the Annual Fund since our founding in 2007.

SML Good Neighbors is dependent on this generosity and compassion. Because of our Cornerstone members, our summer and after-school educational enrichment programs for children from low income families in Bedford and Franklin Counties are provided at no cost to the families.

Donor Recognition Levels Donors who have given at least $10,000 cumulatively are further recognized at the following levels:

  • Diamond Donors: $100,000+

  • Platinum Donors: $75,000+

  • Gold Donors: $50,000+

  • Silver Donors: $25,000+

  • Bronze Donors: $10,000+

The Grand Club Donors who pledge to give $1,000 each year to the annual fund become members of the Grand Clubof the Cornerstone Society. These members are recognized at our annual meeting and dinner to celebrate their sustained support.

By contributing to these programs, you are investing directly in the future of these children.
