A Stellar Final Week at SML Good Neighbors

What an incredible final day of camp at SML Good Neighbors! We wrapped up our season on the highest note possible, thanks to some extra special visitors who joined us this week.

Through the fantastic SPARK program, a wonderful initiative organized by Redwood United Methodist Church in Redwood, VA, in partnership with area churches—we were honored to host a stellar group of young volunteers from Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Moneta, Virginia.

These young leaders jumped right in with open hearts and boundless energy, truly doing it all to help us finish strong:

  • Served as dedicated, enthusiastic Reading Buddies for our campers

  • Helped organize and carefully pack up our library books before they head into storage for the season

  • Unloaded weekend food bags to help keep local kids nourished

  • Helped move and pack up camp supplies to wrap up our season smoothly

Neighbors Helping Neighbors Across the Community

These dedicated youth volunteers didn't stop with us, they have been working hard all week long, serving not just our campers, but also our friends at the local animal shelter and the Henry Fork Center.

Talk about a powerful, inspiring week of youth leadership and hands-on community service!

A massive thank you to the SPARK program, Bethlehem United Methodist Church, and these amazing young people for being such wonderful neighbors.

You made our final week of camp extra bright, and we couldn't be more grateful for your impact!
