The Good Neighbors Programs have grown rapidly since 2008. As a matter of fact we initially planned to serve a maximum of 100 children but had over 250 registered students in our Summer Enrichment Day Camp during the 2018 season.

Compare that to 65 children participating in the 2008 camp season! We know there are many more children in the schools we serve who would benefit from our program.

Example, there are over 5,000 children in the twenty schools we serve who qualify for the free or reduced-cost meal program. In addition to these four week day camps, we are providing lunches, snacks and weekend bags for over 270 children enrolled in our summer season programs within these schools.

The children we serve come from families with limited resources, we provide all of these programs at NO COST to families. The funds for these programs are provided by area churches, civic groups, businesses, individual contributions and grants from foundations.

The Good Neighbors programs have become an important part of this community, serving the needs of children in ways that were not available before. We now have programming year round for rising 1st graders through high school.

Parents and school officials attest to the impacts these programs are having on the students. However, to sustain the most current programs, to continue to make these programs available to more local children and to develop new programs, SML Good Neighbors need your financial help.
