THANK YOU SUMMER 2022 TEACHING INTERNS
“There are so many amazing things that happened during camp. My expectations of everything have been exceeded to the max.
The kids are amazing and have only brought the biggest smile to my face….most times.
Seeing how excited they get when they finally understand what they are learning are some of the most heartwarming and fascinating moments to witness, and I am beyond happy that I was able to see it happen first hand.
To add the cherry on top the countless hugs and words of kindness that the children share with us is probably one of my favorite parts of being here! “
- Summer 2022 Intern, Gianella

“How wonderful it was to spend part of my summer with these, not just kids, but personally, my first students ever! For me this marks a really important and huge step in my life and the career that I am looking forward to pursue, which is of course Education. Now more than ever, I am a hundred and ten percent more sure that this is really what I want to dedicate to the rest of my life.
To be honest, the beginning was definitely a little bit concerning. I was so worried and scared that the kids were not going to like me or the activities I had prepared for them, but as the days passed by, I realized that there was nothing to worry about, and then I accepted the fact that I was here not just to teach but also to have fun.
I know these kids might still be too young to comprehend how special and significant they can become in a blink of an eye for us, but just as we all came with the same purpose of teaching and preparing ourselves to improve many of our skills, what we also did not realized about, was that at some point of this camp we also became the students, learning how to deal with many different personalities, many emotions at once, learning how long we can hold or patience, different ways of learning, and not just how to be a good teacher, but perceive things with a different perspective, and at the same time recover some of those childhood moments that can make us feel like kids again.
And lastly, I want to express how grateful I am for being able to receive this opportunity and spending time with wonderful people that helped me grow more as an intern, as a friend, as a teacher, and as an individual.”
